AIMATION STUDIO / FAQ

FAQ

Answers about cameras, local processing, export and licenses.

How to install AImation Studio?

Follow the AImation Studio installation tutorial. You can find the installer and available connectors on the download page.

Do I need expensive equipment?

No! You can use a simple webcam, smartphone, or any compatible camera.

What’s the difference between motion data and animation?

Motion data describes captured movement. AImation Studio lets you inspect and refine that data before exporting it or streaming it to a 3D workflow. Applying the motion to a character may also require import and retargeting setup in the destination application.

What kind of support do you offer?

We provide community support through Discord, as well as email support for technical issues.

Does motion processing run locally?

Yes. Motion estimation and processing run on your Windows PC using GPU or CPU resources. You do not need to upload source footage to a cloud motion-processing service.

Does local processing mean I never need internet access?

No. Motion processing is local, but account activation, license services and updates may use an internet connection. Local processing should not be confused with an application that has no network functionality.

Do I need processing tokens or credits?

AImation Studio does not use processing tokens or per-animation credits. Motion processing runs on your own computer. Software access is governed by your license; see the current plans for available terms.

Can I use a single camera or a multi-camera setup?

Both workflows are supported. Start with a webcam or smartphone, or configure multiple cameras when you need additional views. Follow the camera and calibration tutorials for your setup.

Can I capture hands separately from the body?

Yes. AImation Studio supports hand estimation and a separate hand-animation workflow. Separately captured hand animation can be combined with other motion during post-processing.

Which export and streaming options are available?

You can export FBX and BVH motion data or use WebSocket streaming. An Unreal Engine Live Link integration is also available. Check the connector download and installation notes for the engine version you use.

Can I clean up motion before exporting it?

Yes. The node-based post-processing workflow includes smoothing, cutting, merging and manual or automatic bone anchoring. Inspect the result after each change and test the exported motion on your target character.

How do I check free-trial availability?

Open the free-trial dialog to see the currently configured trial information. Create an account, confirm your email and check the account panel for eligibility and license availability. The trial duration is shown dynamically on the site.
