AImation Studio: Single or multi camera markerless motion capture studio for Windows

After months of development, we’re excited to announce the early access phase of our new software, AImation Studio. Thanks to MediaPipe AI running locally on either GPU or CPU, it provides fast, secure markerless motion capture with the option to estimate body movements, hand movements, or both. 

Built to work with both single and multi-camera setups. From the start, we’ve focused on compatibility with low-cost, off-the-shelf Windows web cameras. This required us to develop a flexible camera system that can handle many types of devices that are out there and easily integrate new ones, with Android mobile phone support coming very soon. 

It’s all wrapped in a single application that handles everything from calibration and recording to post-processing, exporting, and streaming. Easily manage recordings with scenes and view each scene in a dedicated window with multi-viewport support, camera footage display, and numerous animation tools, to list a few:

  • Motion smoothing algorithms
  • Bone anchoring & automatic bone anchoring
  • Bone anchoring & automatic bone anchoring
  • Animation cutting and the ability to merge different parts of different animations, for example, separate hand animations that can later be merged into other animations
  • Estimate distance to camera ( single camera mode )

Our goal with this software is to get you a 3D-ready animation in your preferred engine as quickly as possible. You can export your work as FBX or BVH files or stream directly via WebSocket connection. In this early phase, an Unreal Engine plugin (LiveLink) is available, and custom engines can use the same API to connect and receive animation frames.

It's important to note that we currently do not support retargeting, so the receiving engine will need to handle that. However, it's a top priority on our roadmap!
